2-time European champion with the Danish men’s national handball team — now a passionate golfer

Lars Christiansen is not just one of Denmark’s most recognised sports figures — he is a legend. Born on 18 April 1972 in Sønderborg, Lars played 338 international matches for the Danish national handball team and scored a record 1,503 goals, making him the player with both the most appearances and the most goals in Danish history.

A world-class career

Lars Christiansen spent 14 seasons as a left wing for the German top club SG Flensburg-Handewitt, where he scored an impressive 3,996 goals. With the Danish national team, he won European Championship gold in both 2008 and 2012, and at the 2008 tournament he was the top scorer and selected for the All-star team alongside players such as Nikola Karabatic and Ivano Balić.
